Official Rules:
This is a league to make the game more enjoyable, and to make the pace of play quicker, so use common sense in relation to the rules. If you think what you are doing is cheating, then you are most likely cheating. Please respect the whole group and don’t cheat. It pisses everyone off.
1) FIRST HOLE - You are allowed two shots off of the first tee without penalty.
2) OUT OF BOUNDS / HAZARDS / INCLUDING WATER – Everything will be played laterally, meaning you get a fair guestimate of your distance and you must drop in the rough in close proximity of where you went out, NOT THE MIDDLE OF THE FAIRWAY. This is for both red and white stakes. This means, you get the distance of where you went out of bounds at, not the distance you BELIEVE your ball would have traveled had you hit it right down the pipe. Usually the group is a fair judge of distance. If you have water that runs along the hole you are on and you hit it into the water, YOU MAY take the distance and go laterally out to the rough and hit your 3rd shot from that spot, OR use the rule below. If you role into a body of water that comes across the fairway, then you drop in front of the water and hit your 3rd shot, OR again, use rule below if you think you can get over that water running ACROSS the fairway.
(OPTIONAL, YOU MAY JUST FOLLOW THE RULE ABOVE)
THIS RULE HAS BEEN SIMPLIFIED AGAIN: JUST TO MAKE LIFE SIMPLE... (ONLY OFF THE TEE BOX).
YOU MAY USE A "MULLIGAN" OFF THE TEE BOX WHENEVER YOU WANT, BUT IT IS A MULLIGAN +1. MEANING - You will be hitting your 2nd shot off the tee box and not your first shot again. If you take advantage of the rule above, you would drop where you went out of bounds, and you would be hitting three from the rough. If you decide to use this "Mulligan +1" rule, you would hit two off the tee box and hopefully be in the fairway hitting your third shot.
You can use this Mulligan +1 for anything off the TEE BOX. A shank, a ball you top and it goes 15 feet, ball that goes into woods, water, house, car. You may use it on a Par 3, 4, or 5. ONLY OFF THE TEE BOX.
A MULLIGAN AND PROVISIONAL ARE NOT, REPEAT, ARE NOT THE SAME THING:
MULLIGAN - IF YOU HIT A MULLIGAN IT MEANS YOU HAVE FORFEITED THE RIGHT TO USE THAT FIRST SHOT AND YOU WILL LIVE WITH WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU TEE UP YOUR NEXT BALL.
PROVISIONAL - MEANS YOU ARE UNSURE IF YOUR FIRST BALL IS IN PLAY. IT MUST BE CLEAR ON THE TEE BOX THAT YOU ARE HITTING A PROVISIONAL. IF YOU FIND YOUR FIRST BALL IN PLAY, REGARDLESS OF THE LIE, YOU MUST PLAY THE FIRST BALL.
THIS IS NOT A ONE MAN SCRAMBLE. YOU CAN'T HIT TWO OFF THE FIRST TEE AND PICK THE BETTER BALL.
IT SOUNDS CONFUSING, BUT I PROMISE IT'S NOT.
3) DIRTY BALLS – You are more than welcome to clean and place in the fairway from your TEE shot. If you are in the rough don't place your ball in the fairway. If you are on a slop don't move it to level ground. If your ball is clean don't move it just to have a better lie. If your ball is on the ground don't put it back up on a tee. Common sense, don't just keep messing with your balls because you can.
4) BUNKERS - Some courses are better at keeping their bunkers than others. If you end up in a bunker and their is water in the bunker, then move and place is fine. COMMON SENSE comes into play again. If you are plugged, So Sorry, if you are on the lip, So Sorry, if you don't like your lie, So Sorry.
5) TEE BOX - Please check each course page for the appropriate tee box.
*** If you are 60 or older, and you commonly play the senior tees, then you may play the senior tees. If you commonly play the white tees, then play the designated tees each month.
6) PUTTING – EVERYTHING MUST BE PUTTED....... NO GIMMIES, THIS RULE REALLY IS VERY IMPORTANT. YES, THIS MEANS THE EASY ONE FOOTERS AS WELL.
